<Poem>

<Translation>
"Pony Boy is good boy"-One of the first things he learned to say year
before last. He soon learned to ask and repeat the guests' names, And
could even recite soe of my lines. This troubled world has been too
hard on his tender years, In a poor home, everything depends on a good
mother.

Vanished is the hope of living in retirement with my family. Even
receving a letter from home is now uncertain. The universe is filled
with the banners of armies, Everywhere one is saddened by the bugles
of war. If I can ever return to be with them, all alive, I'll be grateful, no
matter how long it may take.
